  • Trileçe, which is an Albanian tradition and characteristic of the Balkans, is a dessert prepared with milk sherbet using a mixture of three milks in Edirne. Trileçe is served with a delicious caramelised sauce that spreads from tongue to tongue with its lightness and sponge cake.
  • Heat the oven to 180 degrees. Grease a round or square baking dish or spread greaseproof paper.In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar well with a mixer, whisk until the sugar dissolves.Add flour, baking powder and vanilla extract. Mix at low speed of the mixer, mix until you get a homogeneous consistency. Pour the mixture into the baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake in a preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes. While the cake is cooling, add milk, cream and condensed milk to a saucepan to prepare the syrup. Bring to a boil by stirring over medium heat. After boiling, remove from the stove and leave to cool. Pour the warm syrup over the cooled cake. Leave it for a while so that the syrup is well absorbed into the cake. Cover it with whipped cream. Optionally, you can garnish with grated coconut or cinnamon powder.Refrigerate the trileçe for at least 2-3 hours.Serve by slicing. Bon appetit! Materials
For the cake:- 4 eggs- 1 cup granulated sugar- 1 cup flour- 1 teaspoon baking powder- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the syrup:
- 1 cup milk- 1 cup cream (liquid) - 1 cup condensed milk- For the top:- 1 cup cream (whipped)- Grated coconut or cinnamon powder (optional)
