1-General View of Edirne from Hıdırlık Hill

In order to take a general view of Edirne, it is necessary to go up to Hıdırlık Hill located in Yıldırım neighbourhood. This hill, where the Hıdırlık Bastion, one of the most important headquarters of the Balkan War, is located, offers photographers beautiful views day or night.

2-View of Selimiye from Kıyık Hill

One of the rare spots where the close silhouette of Selimiye can be taken is a place called Kıyık Hill. From the Hilly Hotel junction towards Bel. Koop, when you stop about 200 metres ahead, Selimiye Mosque welcomes the photographers with its magnificent structure. The most beautiful shots from this point are the ones taken in the evening. Perhaps the most mystical view of the world welcomes those entering Edirne from Kapıkule. This is the highly effective view formed by a total of 8 minarets of Selimiye and Üç Şerefeli Mosques stacked on top of each other. Before entering Gazimihal Bridge, it is possible to take photographs of this view from the promenade extending to the left towards Sultan Bayezid II Complex. 9- Edirne Palace Bab-ı Sadesi (Entrance Gate)

The ruins of Edirne Palace are one of the most important historical values of the Ottoman Empire. The foundation of this palace was laid by the Tunca River in 1450 during the reign of Murat II and was completed and started to be used by his son Fatih Sultan Mehmet. During the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent and other sultans, the palace was constantly repaired and new buildings were added. In 1829, during the Russian invasion in 1829, it was badly damaged by burning. One of the very few parts of this palace that has survived to the present day is the Bab-ı Sade Gate. This frame, behind which the main building of the palace, Cihannüma Pavilion, is also visible, is one of the important angles that attract the attention of photographers.

10-Old Mosque Calligraphy

Since Ara Güler's world-famous photograph "Allah and Woman" was taken under the calligraphy of this mosque, many photographers inspired by this photograph, when they come to Edirne, take their breath in the Old Mosque, the first large Sultan Mosque of Edirne. The Lausanne Monument, built in 1998 in the immediate vicinity of this building, which is now used as the Faculty of Fine Arts building, is also a visual beauty that attracts attention.

13- Synagogue Interior

After the Jews who took refuge in the Ottoman Empire completely burned down all the synagogues in the great fire in 1905, it was built by the edict of Sultan Abdülhamit II and put into service in 1907. This building, which was left to its own fate for many years, was demolished due to neglect in the 1990s and became one of the most remarkable touristic places after it was restored by the General Directorate of Foundations. This important work attracts the attention of photographers due to the aesthetic elements in its architecture and the colourful structure of its interior. Photographers mostly photograph the façade, the ceiling structure and other architectural details of this building. Edirne has 3 important covered bazaars that have survived to the present day. All three of them are in the centre of the city. The other two are Selimiye Arastası and Bedesten bazaars. These three bazaars are closed areas where photographers visit and shoot. Especially Alipaşa Bazaar is among the most photographed artefacts. Sultan Bayezid II Complex, located in Yeni İmaret neighbourhood by the Tunca River, is one of the most remarkable buildings of Edirne. The rear facade of the Darüşşifa, the most important part of this complex, facing towards the river is the most beautiful photograph.
