Sokullu Mehmet Pasha Bath and Taşhan +
Sokullu Mehmet Pasha Bath and Taşhan

The building, also known as the double bath, was built by Sokullu Mehmet Pasha in the second half of the 16th century by Mimar Sinan. The women's and men's sections of the double bath are side by side and the entrances are in different directions. It was built using cut stone and brick materials. The arches sitting on classical columns and capitals add color to the brick facade view within the cut stone walls. The fact that the central arch, which is slightly higher than the sides, is covered with a dome increases the monumentality. The body walls, made of two rows of bricks and one row of cut stone, end with narrow and simple moldings; however, only the cut stone system was applied in the backgrounds. In the men's dressing room, there are rooms extending from the men's dressing room to the women's dressing room, with shops on the floor and hearths above. In each room there are hearths with classical wet bars and cupboard niches on both sides of these hearths, which are opened to the walls of the dressing room. The inn, which was built to provide financial resources for the bath, is located to the south of the bath.
