HIZLI MENÜ
Shah Melek Mosque +

The mosque is located in a courtyard. The courtyard floor is 2.2.5 m. below the road. There is a hazira in the garden. The northeast façade of the rectangular mosque was built only with cut stone, while the other façades were built with stone and brick in alternating order.

There are four windows on the south-west and south-east facades, two at the bottom and two at the top. The north-west façade has only two upper windows. The north-east façade has three lower windows and two upper windows. In addition, four windows were opened in the dome pulley in the centre of each facade. At the east end of the north-east façade, there is an arbour tomb leaning against the mosque. The consoles seen in the centre of the facade indicate the presence of a porch. At the north end of the façade there is a crown door protruding from the façade. Remains of kufic calligraphy can be seen on the borders of the crown door framed with moulding. Inside the pointed arch of the crown door, which is decorated with rumi swellings, there is another decorative arch with three slices. There is a niche with three sides facing each other inside the door. The niches are covered with simple muqarnas and fluted arches. The entrance range is covered with a flat arch made of marble. There is a three-line Arabic construction inscription just above the flat arch.

At the western end of the south-western facade of the mosque, there is another entrance on the same axis as the crown gate. The covering system consists of a dome resting on a twelve-gauge pulley in the qibla direction and a vault covering the entrance axis behind it. To the right of the crown gate, the minaret was built separately from the mosque, leaning against the wall, using cut stone.

The entrance to the minaret is through a flat arched opening on the east side of the pulpit. A prismatic triangular lug passes from the square-planned pulpit to the body. There are two bracelets on the body, one at the bottom and one at the top, with a slate wiping. The transition to the chancel is provided by a series of moldings. On the eastern façade of the building, there are three consoles between the crown door projection and the tomb. The rectangular harim consists of two sections. The entrance axis and the main space are separated by two arches pressing the walls on the sides and a pillar in the middle. While the entrance axis is covered with a mirror vault, the main space is covered with a dome passing through prismatic triangles. There is a wooden women's mahfili on the entrance axis. The walls were covered with tiles that were removed to the Edirne Museum because they were about to fall down. The mihrab, which is slightly protruding from the wall, has a rectangular cross-section and a niche with muqarnas spindles. The mihrab, which was originally covered with tiles, was damaged, so it was covered with plaster with geometric ornaments.
