WHAT TO DO IN EDIRNE?
OLD MOSQUE

It is the oldest monumental building in Edirne that has survived from the Ottomans. Its construction started in 1403 during the reign of Emir Süleyman and was completed in 1414 during the reign of Çelebi Sultan Mehmet. Its architect was Hacı Alaeddin from Konya and its journeyman was Ömer İbni İbrahim. It belongs to the multi-domed "Great mosques" type. Its marble door and decorative inscriptions on the interior are remarkable.
