HIZLI MENÜ
Deveci Inn / Former Prison +

The building has two floors and is one of the early examples of Ottoman inns. Cut stone and brick were used in the building. It has 31 rooms on the upper floor. The year of construction is estimated to be in the first half of the 15th century based on the structure. During the reign of Governor Rüstem Pasha (1846), the building was repaired and converted into a prison and was used as a prison until 1949.

During the reign of Governor Hacı İzzet Pasha (1891-1892), it underwent a major renovation and an infirmary and 4 rooms were added to the prison. The multi-purpose hall is in this section. There is a book written by Mustafa Razi (Çıpanlı Razi) on the south façade of the building. On the floor of the restored building, there are the exhibition halls and workshops of Painter Hayri Çizel from Edirne and Painter Hasan Rıza, who worked in Edirne, and administrative rooms on the upper floors.
